Our Budapest home

The entry to our apartment in Budapest
Our wonderful bedroom. Yes, those are felt Valentine's hearts on the wall.

Where, oh where, is Cristi? Cristi was our landlord in Braşov. He was also our “fixer”. He set up the driver from the airport to the apartment - who also showed us our favorite restaurant in Braşov. He gave us a ride to Old Town for our first morning of sightseeing and pointed out the laundry on the way. He took Bear to rent our car and got us a good deal. He taught Bear how to drive in Romania – “You will lose your license if you do that!” He arranged for our taxi to take us to the train. We love him.

As you can see from the photos, our apartment here is not quite as nice (but really, what do you want for $25. a night?) The taxi drivers at the train station were there to rip off the tourists and we don’t know where to do our laundry. Good food has not been a problem, and our landlord here did turn us onto our internet café with wi-fi – our home away from home. Ah yes, it is an adventure!
