Where have all the people gone

There are 2 weddings in this picture. One at each end of the block

Street performers with impromptu guests

Our wanderings took us to the Upper Town where we saw at least 7 weddings happening! There are only two churches up there so they were cranking them out. It looked like one every hour or so with photos and greetings in the middle of the streets. I have no idea what they do about receptions but we haven’t seen any of them happening and we have seen lots of weddings all over on our trip. Roman, our Prague guide said that lots of people come up to Prague from Israel because they can’t have a civil ceremony in Israel – only an Orthodox Jewish one – and it is only a 3 ½ hour plane trip from Israel to Prague. We were quite surprised at how empty the streets were (except for the weddings). During the week they had been full of young people wandering and drinking at the cafĂ©’s so we expected a Saturday to be even more busy – not so. But, after dinner, the streets started filling up with people. The main square was crowded with all kinds of folks (young, old, kids), doing what we could not tell. There were street performers doing their thing.
