I have decided to name my computer Cecily. You know that poem: There was a little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead, and when she was good she was very, very good but when she was bad she was horrid. That’s how I feel about my computer. When everything works right it is the best thing ever, when it doesn’t – well, it isn’t. Saturday was one of “those” days. Here in Zagreb we have been piggybacking on someone’s unsecured network but they appear to have gone away for a long weekend so we decided to go to a hot spot at the Sheraton to post my blogs and collect our email. So off the 3 of us went. As you can imagine, the Sheraton is very nice and the whole lobby is a free hot spot. First of all, Bear had trouble connecting us to the wi-fi. Eventually after rebooting we were able to get a connection but then Cecily decided not to send any of our outgoing email, incoming – yes, outgoing – no. Thus, my decision to give her a girl’s name. The whole adventure took the entire morning and I didn’t even get everything posted.

The rain has gone away and the sun is out so we decided to wander and take a mid-afternoon air conditioned break in a museum. We ended up at “Arts and Crafts”. Originally we wanted to go to the Ethnographic Museum but it closed at 1:00 – on a Saturday! The Arts and Crafts Museum was very nice with great collections. I, of course, enjoyed the fashion collection. There was a wonderful collection of watches & clocks – imagine a pocket sundial. And lots of beautiful furniture. The temporary exhibit was new bicycles made in Croatia. They are called “Old and Bold”.

After we left the Arts and Crafts Museum we went by the National Theater. It was built in the same Baroque style and is a lovely piece of architecture. In front of the Theater is the Well of Life by Ivan Meštrović, Croatia’s most famous sculptor.
